I have the same problem with S.u.S.E. 6.1 and Samba. I can't get Windows '95 to recognise it in Network Neighborhood, nor can I map a drive to it. I can, however find my Linux box if I search for it. Maybe there's a port disabled by default that I have to enable in the inetd? I think the problem may also be that my Windows '95 just isn't trying to log onto the network. In the Samba book, it says to enable the password by double-clicking on "passwords" in the control panel, then click on the 3rd tab "Change Passwords". When I double-click on "Passwords" in the control panel, the "Change Passwords" tab is missing! I have managed to hunt and find it elsewhere, but it doesn't seem to work at all. Any suggesstions would be appreciated. Also maybe an example of how to use the "map network drive" option. It doesn't seem to work as well because the reply is "not logged in".
