Hi everybody, I have been using a kernel module to use a frame grabber card since SuSE 5.0 (through all versions) successfully. But after upgrading to SuSE 6.3 from SuSE 5.2 on my notebook (Tecra 750), when I try to insert my recompiled module I get a "segmentation fault" message and in /var/log/warn: kernel: invalid operand: 0000 kernel: CPU: 0 kernel: EIP: 0010:[<c882311f>] kernel: EFLAGS: 00010297 kernel: eax: 00000004 ebx: 00000780 ecx: 00000781 edx: 00000781 kernel: esi: 00000000 edi: 00000000 ebp: c5663ec8 esp: c5663e9c kernel: ds: 0018 es: 0018 ss: 0018 kernel: Process insmod (pid: 232, process nr: 35, stackpage=c5663000) kernel: Stack: 00000380 00000400 00000380 00000000 c8823054 00000380 00000004 00000002 kernel: c01103c7 00000000 00000000 c5663f00 c8823d8b 00000380 00000000 00000000 kernel: 00000380 00000000 00000001 c8823000 00000000 c8823054 00000000 00000000 kernel: Call Trace: [<c8823054>] [__wake_up+59/72] [<c8823d8b>] [<c8823000>] [<c8823054>] [<c882ba9b>] [<c8823000>] kernel: [<c8823054>] [<c8823000>] [<c8823000>] [<c882ca8c>] [sys_init_module+1107/1212] [<c8823000>] [<c88319c8>] [<c8835b40>] kernel: [serial:register_serial+-21176/284] [<c8823048>] [system_call+52/56] [<c8823000>] kernel: Code: 0f 4e f8 89 7d e8 b0 04 89 da ee 89 ca ec 88 c1 89 c8 83 e0 Is there anybody who can read these lines and see any trouble solving indications ? If I install the same SuSE version on a desktop PC everything is OK. Themodule is correctly inserted and works fine.
