How can I retrieve a particular source package (in this case, the .texinfo sources for the Gnu utilities)? I know that they are in package zq, but Yast 1 at least doesn't seem to have any way I can see of retrieving files via their package. (I'm running SuSE 6.2).
You could mount the CD, and copy the files from /cdrom/full-names/src into a local directory and examine/extract the files with mc. I personally like to convert the .src.rpm files into tarballs with alien to make them even *more* managable (# alien -t packagename-0.12.3-4.src.rpm). :)
I ultimately did something similar to that, but I'm still wondering if there's a way that Yast can simplify the process. I ended up extracting the tarball by mounting the CDROM containing the right package (there are two possible CD's), then going to Install Packages, specifying the CD as the directory, and going a couple of levels down to get to the .spm file (which Yast claimed was installed even though it wasn't). I selected it and then did a ``reinstall'', which moved the source tarball into the SOURCES directory. It certainly seemed like the long way 'round the barn. And by the way, the reason I did this was to be able to print a Gnu Info file. That required the further steps of extracting the .texi files and running them through TeX. I'd like to believe there's an easier way to get a good hardcopy version of Info documentation, but I don't know what it is.
