I have a friend of mine trying to get his MS Intellimouse to function under SuSE 6.2. If anyone has any pointers on how to get it to work, I would be eternaly grateful. It is a PS/2 not serial. Have tried Sax and XFREE86Setup to no avail.
I have read here and there that getting the wheel on the Intellimous to work is posible under X.. Alas i have never figured out how to do it.. I will watch this thread with great interest :p
Actually, it's pretty easy. The full SuSE 6.3 distro includes it, and only two modifications are generally necessary: (1) Assuming the IntelliMouse is otherwise properly configured, add this line to /etc/XF86Config in the "Pointer" section: ZAxisMapping 4 5 (2) Then, add this to all appropriate xinitrc files (depending on how you've got it set up, i.e. ~/.xinitrc): imwheel (Add this, of course, before the window manager is launched). (The normal -k option doesn't seem to be necessary under SuSE. Read more in /usr/doc/packages/imwheel (right? i think).) One more thing: generally, I think it's better NOT to configure X for ChordMiddle and Emulate3Buttons, though I'm not sure whether or not doing so would break anything in this particular case. Good luck. :) REM moonr@mindspring.com ICQ uin 39952184 -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
