Perhaps you don't realize just how much I appreciated and valued your notes to me about this whole gcc/egcs thing.
To a point I do realize it :-) That's one of the reasons why I'm doing it. I remember how I appreciated (and still appreciate) getting such help and explanation myself, so I'm trying to pass on knowledge I have in order to maybe ease the way for others.
I guess this is the spirit that I found so refreshing about "the Linux community."
Well, this isn't exactly only the spirit of the "Linux community". At least
I found and find this spirit also in other online communities. I started in
Fido eleven years ago, added Compuserve shortly afterwards and then switched
to Usenet 5 years ago and in all those places I found this spirit.
Usenet is just getting bigger and bigger and so the signal to noise ratio
decreases, at least in some corners.
