The problem is that Linux is refusing to read these file names on the CD They're replaced with question marks (i.e. '?? ???? ???.png')
Is that really Linux, or just the `ls' program? <Maintainer mode=on> When reporting a problem, it is a good idea to explain the facts. It is surely not bad to give your interpretation of the facts, as you did here, but if your interpretation happens to be wrong (which might happen to every of us), then without the facts, we might only guess what the real problem was, that yielded to one particular interpretation. </Maintainer>
My question is if there is a way to read the above or at least is there a way to write that kind of file names on a CD?
My guess here, and sorry if I'm wrong, is that you wrote the files correctly, but are not using the proper options to `ls' while listing them. Maybe try: ls -N ls -N --show-control-chars I think, but am not sure, that --show-control-chars has been added recently. This option does not exist with File Utilities 3.16, but it does in 4.0m, which is on pretest here. -- François Pinard http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~pinard -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
