It shouldn't be nessesarry with a 2.2.X Kernel, but it was nessesarry for the elder non SuSE 2.0.X series.

I thought someone on this list gave me the info on how to do it. I got the info from my local lug. free reported that I had only 64M or ram. I used yast and put in that in the append line and after that free always showed the correct amount the
