I'm tying to get SuSE 6.1 to setup a network card as a DHCP client, but it just won't go. Any suggestions? Thanks
As in the network card is detected fine, but DHCP claims 'NO OFFERS RECIEVED. SLEEPING' in /var/log/messages? Well, people here used to try and solve DHCP problems, but nowadays if the problem is like that above, we generally just say 'download dhcpcd'. So... if the above matches your problem, download a version of dhcpcd that will run on 6.1, or compile it yourself. I can't remember where the homepage is for dhcpcd, sorry. Lenz was kind enough to make an rpm for dhcpcd, however this is only for the 6.3 distro, IIRC. Mind you, it may be easier to solve than that, but we probably need to know a bit more detail about the problem - 'just won't go'?
