Anyone else bugged by the way 'less' views files in 6.3 from the wya it did in 6.2? What I mean is in 6.2, it would clear the screen, then view the file, when you exited, it refreshed the screen to the way it was before running less, without showing the contents of the less display. Well now less leaves the contents on the screen constantly, makes me think the program is still viewing the file. Kinda bugs. Anyone else??
Personally I find that sometimes I like it one way and other times the other way. When less starts it sends character strings defined in terminfo (see infocmp) and these can set the terminal in an alternative screen if it exists, perhaps your terminal doesn't support the alternative screen or it just isn't defined in terminfo. /Michael -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
