There was an interseting (ish) article about the very subject in Computer Shopper (www.computershopper.co.uk) however the article itself is not on the site ! In it, it lists the following reference point :- http://physics.open.ac.uk/~rpblake/linux_laptop/. I haven't read it all, but it may be helpful.... Going back to the article itself, it recommends (amongst other things) that you acquire a spec sheet of the desired beast before you part with any money to ensure that various chipsets are compatible - don't go for leading edge technology (yet) and watch out for things like APM support (apparently lacking in Caldera 2.3) I don't know where you are - you may be able to get a copy ? I am looking for a reasonably priced laptop to take SuSE 6.3 on the road with me. I need: - decent display - net & modem access - robustness (must not be a "delicate" box) - flawless execution of SuSE
Any suggestions or experiances to share?
Thanks!
