In the main , there are a few different locations for some config files, plus RH uses linuxconf, whereas SuSE uses the propriatary YaST. The only other factor is price - 26 UK pounds (approx. $40) buys you the full 6-cd box set with lots of apps including Star Office, WordPerfect etc. The SuSE book is also quite good, though I wouldn't neccessarily say better than the RH one. -----Original Message----- From: George Toft [SMTP:grtoft@yahoo.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 26, 2000 3:24 PM To: suse-linux-e Subject: Re: [SLE] What are differences ? moth wrote:

Jerry said quality. I agree with this in that Red Hat is notoriously
slow in their security updates. SuSE, on the other hand, has received
praise in the media about their efforts to fix their Linux distribution
as soon as exploits are discovered. Having been on the wrong side of
a break-in due to Red Hat's security delinquencies, I'm real sensitive
about security.
