Considering you only have three machines why not just give them all static IPs? If you do no need for DHCP.
Ping from the LinBox to the outside world is fine, ping to the winbox and notebook are ok (both/three ways) but no go when ping from the winbox or notebook to the outside world.
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking so ask again if any of the things I've suggested didn't help. Other things to do. With the windows machine setup the DNS numbers. Make sure /etc/resolv.conf is right on the linux box.
The /etc/resolv.conf is empty? is this the problem?(I think so)
This is probably the problem with Netscape on Linux not being able to work. If you are able to run Windows, you need to find out the DNS numbers for your ISP. I'm afraid I don't have any computers running Windows here, so I couldn't tell you exactly whre to find this out under Windows. I don't know whether winipcfg would tell you or not. One thing I should point out. If you get your DNS numbers via DHCP, then if you checked your /etc/resolv.conf while you weren't connnected you may, as you found, not see your DNS numbers. Try checking /etc/resolv.conf again while you are connected. If the numbers still aren't there after making a connection, then do as suggested above and find out your DNS numbers from somewhere, then use YaST to enter them (it should be under Network --> Nameserver or something like that. If you want to find out more about what /etc/resolv.conf is for, then the SuSE manual is a good place to start. In my 6.1 manual, the section about /etc/resolv.conf is on p133. As for the other computers, they may not have their routes set up right. You'll need to go into Windows Control Panel and double-click on Network, select the TCP-IP protocol for the NIC and click properties, then find the section talking about default gateway and give it the (internal) IP address of your Linux box. Of course, this is just one possibility, but it's one I think you should check. Hopefully some part of that will help!
