Just my 0.02, but you could run pdksh which is a public domain version of the shell. It comes on the SuSE cd's and it works fine...or so I have seen. I tend to use bash for tab completion and other such things .. I even use bash on my Sun.. hope this helps,

Does anyone know of a discussion (preferably online) of the relative merits of the different unix shells? Michael likes bash, but the ksh web site hypes their shell as containing bash.
I located the ksh web site and have downloaded their ast-base package, which contains ksh. However, the only Linux version is for the 2.0 kernel with Elf. I don't know what problems might arise from that. I believe that Linux also includes an imitation ksh. So any comparisons have to account for the versions of ksh that are actually available for the system you're running.
