I missed something here. I use WP8 and when I once in a while get a word ".doc" file I can read it on WP8 without problems. I've never had M$ word on my system. Are we talking about the same thing?

WordPerfect/Coral is one of the few companies that have taken the time and money to really understand the M$ Word file format. One can figure out the file format, it just takes a lot of time!
