The man pages for a number of Gnu utilities, e.g., cp and mcopy, indicate that the authoritative information is to be found in the Texinfo files. Where are these files located in a standard SuSE distribution?
$ rpm -ql texinfo-3.12-51 /usr/bin/info ...
And what's the easiest way to look at them?
info cp
I usually look at them from within emacs from the Help tab, Manuals menu and choose Browse Manuals with Info, or simply ctrl-h i. It gives you a nice info tree which you can search or browse.
