I would like to excuse myself in advance if any of these questions have been already answered previously, but as i mentioned, i am new to linux. Recently i bought SuSE 6.3 and installed with much effort (unfortunately i have an Ati Rage Fury which didn't seem to be detected). Anyway, KDE works fine now and so does LiLo. I noticed in LiLo there are already 2 booting options: -linux and suse which both load different kernels. Are these kernels in any way different? Should i just keep one of the booting options and get rid of the other one? How can i read files off my windows partition (hda), i have tried mounting it and it seems to work correctly but when i look into the directory where i mounted it, there is nothing. This has happened to me already. When installing manually the x server for my Ati Rage i copied it onto a windows formatted diskette (under windows), then rebooted into linux, mounted the drive, but when i looked into the directory there was nothing. Nevertheless i executed the rpm commands to install the package and it worked.??!! Thank you very much for your help.
