The nolisten flag is hindering you. The options are in: /etc/X11/XDM/Xservers. Just remove the "--nolisten tcp", restart X, and try your Xhost stuff.
I think that would be /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers It depends. For kdm it's in the kdm directory. I resolved this issue on 9.2, but am fighing it with 9.3 now. I've modified /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers yet I still see the nolisten option passed to X. I also modified /opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc where you'll find it set also. You'll also find a setting for it in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager DISPLAYMANAGER_XSERVER_TCP_PORT_6000_OPEN="yes" I tried resetting it via Yast, but the darn thing still startes with nolisten. Anyone resolved this issue with 9.3? I can't figure out where it's getting this setting. -- Until later, Geoffrey
