[opensuse-virtual] Again: using virtio(_net), KVM and QEMU

Using Suse 11.0 and 11.1, I try to use the virtio network device. However, does anybody has an idea how to set this up under SuSE, since suse complains that it needs an physical eth0 or wlan0 device and does not allow to setup the virtio network device. I did install the VM, changed to the '-net nic,model=virtio' option and....I do get an IP address but no network traffic anymore. Oh yes, I use the KVM83 package with QEMU. Any suggestions?
