create a file in /etc/init.d called startscript
make sure it is executable (chmod 755 startscript)

Then depending on what runlevel you want to load the script in (in suse usually 3 and 5) cd to /etc/init.d/rc3.d and link to the startscript file.
ln -s S99startscript ../startscript
cd ../rc5.d
ln -s S99startscript ../startscript

Or, once you have added the script to /etc/init.d, just use yast to edit runlevels and select your script to start in appropriate levels...
