don't know which version is shipped with suse 9, but you should try to download FreeS/WAN 2.03 ( + X.509 Patch ), then if you haven't already installed kernel source - do that. After this, decompress the downloaded file, change to the new directory ( i.e. freeswan-2.03 ) and then do a "make menugo" - this will install Freeswan and will patch your kernel.
