Check out /etc/ppp/ip-up.local and ip-down.local Those scripts get called when a connection has been established or you got disconnected - I put my iptables rules and ipsec stuff there so it gets automatically restarted every time I have to reconnect. All you need is a small line to extract your new ip address from ifconfig. extint="ippp0" extip="`/sbin/ifconfig $extint | grep 'inet addr' | awk '{print $2}' | sed -e 's/.*://'`" Does this job for me.
