Hello !
how do i know if my server has an open port? how? can i use iptables to restrict ports thats open?
--> You can check the ports that are used on your machine as root with the following two commands: "lsof -i" "netstat -at" If you want to test your firewall, you should run a portscan from another pc. First try would be "nmap -sT" and "nmap -sU". Type "man nmap" for more information about this portscanner.
