Hi, after Radu Voicu (thanks to him) gave me hints to install the 2.4.19 updates including modulils-2.4.19 onto SuSE 8.0 I did so on one server with the k_deflt version. That server seems to work (I'm not really sure because in this moment I have to note that the server is in swapping state and doesn't do much more. I started a dbimport which a week before didn't cause any problem). On another server I installed the k_smp-2.4.19 version of the update because from the default SuSE 8.0 installation it was the k_smp-2.4.18 version installed here. Unfortunately this failed completely: The server didn't start again. (Hangs when trying to load teh kernel). My solution I thought hopefully of was to install the complete SuSE 8.2 Paket. I'm not sure if it is the best way out if this kernel update misery (look my postings before).
