Hi all.
I am looking forward to RSBAC to a new installation of Suse Linux 8.0 I know I have to patch the kernel with RSBAC modules, but I would like to know if I can patch the already patched SuSE kernel with any hope of success. I would prefer to use a SuSE kernel because I also like the XFS filesystem, which is not yet in the vanilla kernel.
Experiences and advices are very needed:-))
I have always used a vanilla kernel, patched it with RSBAC, then applied other patches I needed. When I did other patches before the RSBAC patch it almost certainly failed or had to be manually worked on to get it in. RSBAC has many changes on the kernel, so it is best to apply them to a clean kernel. Other patches are (usually) smaller and can be (manually, if necessary) put in after RSBAC. But nevertheless you could try and see if it fits in the prepached SuSE kernel. BTW, RSBAC is great ! I'm using it for a while now and it works really good. Andreas
