Seems like a BAD idea... ipop3 sends password in plaintext. Anyone packet sniffing would get your root password... Suggest you forward roots mail to someone else ( or yourself). You should, if possible, use ipop3s ( pop3 through ssl) which encripts all communication between server and client. Geordon VanTassle wrote:
Hello ,
Please forgive if this is an FAQ, but how do I authorise pop for root? Using ipop3, SuSE 8.0 pro. Have PostFix installed.
thanks in advance.
