Even if it were BSD license how would that affect you? In fact the BSD license gives end users even more freedom/"protection" then the GPL, the GPL is designed to protect programmers (i.e. people don't steal their code), whereas the BSD protects end users more (here, use the code, or take the code and modify/sell it, whatever, just leave the notice on it).
