i am a little bit confused with openssh. runnig SuSE 6.4 as a router in a small network i instaled openssh (openssh-2.9p1-17 from suse-server) to maintain the router. after setting hosts.deny to ALL: ALL
and hosts.allow to ssh: LOCAL 192.168.3. ...
hi! try sshd: not just ssh: --- sshd: LOCAL 192.168.3. --- as i know, the tcp_wrapper looks for a process named like the ssh daemon, and this is sshd not ssh. cheers, ---k
i was unable to ssh to the router from my local net. but after i set hosts.deny to (ALL EXCEPT ssh): ALL connecting wasn't a problem. looks as if shhd is only checking hosts.deny.... any ideas? thanks!
