Why don't you just explore and resolve the "used to hang up suddenly" (immediately?) before switching to something else using the very same transport channel? Was your session interrupted or wasn't it established at all? Is there some message you can cite or is it like it used to be in windows ("it doesn't work" as the whole error information)? Most login scripts are plain broken and put some greeting on the "terminal" when they shouldn't (fortune, stty erase, todo, calendar, et al). scp(1) doesn't like this but wants to get the remote scp server's handshake. virtually yours 82D1 9B9C 01DC 4FB4 D7B4 61BE 3F49 4F77 72DE DA76 Gerhard Sittig true | mail -s "get gpg key" Gerhard.Sittig@gmx.net -- If you don't understand or are scared by any of the above ask your parents or an adult to help you.
