More strange things:

[...useless debugging output deleted...]

i.e. After upgrading package, rpm program says that the package version keeps on being the former one (old *-27 instead of new *-65). No errors shown.

What is so strange about that?
Updating a binary package with a source rpm isn't supposed to work in any
case. Please use the binary rpm.
