Hi folks, I just released SuSEfirewall 3.3 - it's a birthday release ... it's now in existance for one year ;-) It can be found as usual at http://www.suse.de/~marc Please note that 3.3 will be an official SuSE rpm update - if no bugs are found... So please test this version! Note that anyone using <= v3.0 is strongly encouraged to update! (especially because of the important lock support which shoot down the filter rules of several people occasionly, and some tighter security things and bugfixes) New in v3.3: (for those who have got 3.2): * Added an FAQ! * rewrote the FW_ALLOW_INCOMING_HIGHPORTS_* function to allow more services to be entered. * Fore more security, no ICMP unreachable packets will be sent to WORLD anymore, except fragementation-needed. ICMP port unreachable (still) needs FW_ALLOW_TRACEROUTE set to "yes". * More TCP/UDP/ICMP effeciancy optimizations via IP options * Fixed some typos If no more bugs are found, v4.0 will be started with support for hooks to be able to put rules in on your own. (End of September 2000) In v5.0 I hope that it will have a graphical config tool within yast2 (maybe december 2000 - ???)
