Strange kernel message

This is probably not directly security related and might be
off-topic - but today I discovered a strenge kernel message in
/var/log/messages of our central file server running SuSE Linux 6.2:

Mar 10 12:01:23 xxx kernel: eth0: Something Wicked happened! 000a.

There have been logged several such messages (000a as well as 0009,
000b) during the last days.

It's a 10/100 NIC running with the via-rhine module:

Feb 27 17:03:19 xxx kernel: eth0: VIA VT3043 Rhine at 0xb800,
00:40:05:a5:2f:54, IRQ 10.
Feb 27 17:03:19 xxx kernel: eth0: MII PHY found at address 8, status
0x782d advertising 05e1 Link 40a1.

I'm a little worried now (maybe I'm just paranoid ;-)) - can someone
of you tell me what this message means?

Thanks in advance,

Jan Hildebrandt
