I am looking for an Mail-Virus-Scanner, allready tested AMAVIS with McAfee but not very happy (see security problems with amavis).
The AMaViS team will be pleased to know, which security issues you see with AMaViS. Imho the combination of smtpd/smptfwdd (from the Juniper Firewall) and AMaViS is more secure, as smtp does itself some sanitize checks and AMaViS does not run as root.
Have you some other solutions? (Comercial Solutions also) btw. Will SuSE distribute an Mail-Virus-Scanner?
Well, Trend Micro InterScan VirusWall, which was/is developed for RedHat, and does not work with SuSE Linux (but they are working on a "SuSE-version"). H+B EDV AvGard, which is currently beta. (btw, Mail-Gate from URLabs/Symantec, but it does, apart from some other features, "only" content-filtering, but adding virus scanning stuff should not to difficult ;-) But Mail-Gate was also developed from RedHat Linux ...) Non-commercial: IspMailGate (Perl Module), Scan4Virus (supports only qmail), Interflex (well, it is in a way derived from AMaViS :-)) Some small solution exits for AVP/Linux and sendmail. If I missed one, please let me know.
