Hi! $ osc ls openSUSE:Leap:15.1:Update sysconfig _link # -> openSUSE:Leap:15.1:Update sysconfig.11005 (latest) sysconfig-0.85.3.tar.bz2 sysconfig.changes sysconfig.spec $ osc ls openSUSE:Leap:15.2:Update sysconfig sysconfig-0.85.2.tar.bz2 sysconfig.changes sysconfig.spec $ ibs ls SUSE:SLE-15-SP2:Update sysconfig _link # -> SUSE:SLE-15-SP2:GA sysconfig.12178 (latest) sysconfig-0.85.3.tar.bz2 sysconfig.changes sysconfig.spec $ osc ls openSUSE:Factory sysconfig sysconfig-0.85.4.tar.bz2 sysconfig.changes sysconfig.spec I've no idea why Leap:15.2 isn't synced to use the SLE-15-SP2 package. I could submit 0.85.3 manually to 15.2, but I fear to confuse the "UpdateCrawler" even more, so it would be IMO better when someone who knows how to "link" them again would adjust it. I can also submit 0.85.4 [marks yp.conf as config(noreplace)] to SLE-15-SP2 + LEAP-15.2 preferably via "UpdateCrawler". When I remember correctly, this has been rejected and thus not wanted in the past. => I just need an advise how/which variant you'd prefer. Using the link mechanizm, netconfig needs a link + file name. The config file was /etc/yp.conf in the last decades, which is expected to be a link now as requested via a feature request, so we don't write files to /etc filesystem any more, but to /run and use link to it in /etc instead. 1) netconfig always writes settings to /run/netconfig/yp.conf. 2.1) When /etc/yp.conf does not exist, it will create a link from /etc/yp.conf to /run/netconfig/yp.conf. 2.2) When the /etc/yp.conf exists and is a link pointing to other file than /run/netconfig/yp.conf, it will not change it. 2.3) When the /etc/yp.conf exists and is a file, netconfig will not replace it with a link, except it wrote it before and there is a checksum about -> migration from old versions. 3) To force to replace the link or file and let it point to the /run/netconfig/yp.conf, an explicit "netconfig update --force" request to "fix" it is needed. Hello team,
we have two problems
* openSUSE Leap upgrade from 15.1 to 15.2 is reporting downgrade of sysconfig (Thanks to Darix for raising the issue) * Backporting of change from Factory to SLE (bsc#1171495) has a negative feedback from Thorsten. Previous discussion about the issue can be found here https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1159566
Seems like we have a conflict of opinions and our time window of when we can still change something in SP2/Leap 15.2 is getting short.
As per Thorsten's comment I did already open an RFE https://github.com/openSUSE/openSUSE-release-tools/issues/2439 for openSUSE release tools to ignore conflict on %ghost files.
What are next steps? My main concern is not to have a broken product / project.
Thank you
