gmime 2.6.19 is already in GNOME:Factory and openSUSE Factory, so no action is needed there we need to just find the best way of fixing it for 13.1

Awesome, thanks, Richard. I saw you updated the bug as well. I didn't actually find that version of gmime in oS Factory, and didn't think to look in GNOME:Factory, so I built it myself. I'll keep my eyes open for it in the update channel. Meantime, I did post an announcement in the announcements forum letting the NNTP users there know that they may run into this problem and can pull the necessary updates from my repo - but I'll let them know it's in factory and GNOME:Factory as well.
