Hi

Again thank you for participating in the search for a slogan for the openSUSE project.

We ended the vote last Friday. You were able to vote between nine pre-selected slogan. We did choose the slogans based
on your feedback and with the intention to avoid any trademark violations.

The winner is "openSUSE – Linux for open minds" with 64 votes - Alberto Passalaqua. We are going to contact the
winner to reward him with a 50 cm stuffed Tux.

I really think that this type of democratic voting for the slogan is a
really bad idea, partly because (i) it doesn't take into consideration
the potential negative reaction people might have to it, and (ii)
because democratic decisions like this end up just being a mish-mash
of the options.

There have been very good arguments raised from several people against
the use of this particular slogan. What of them?

Kind thoughts,
