However, I can not publish the remastered DVD because of the registered trademarks. So, do I have permission to do so? Or should I use the rembrand [3] scripts in order to remove all the trademarks?
If you ask Novell Legal, they'll probably say no. That's (one of?) the reasons why rembrand exists. For my "lab experiment" I've been using rembrand to create a de-branded version of openSUSE10.2. This shows the progress so far: URL:http://www.davjam.org/~davjam/opensuse.debranded/index.htm including the script I use to automate the process. Presently, I'm working on build 1.0.5, which has some of the patterns patched to remove a few non-essential packages. I'm also working on a "howto" describing just what I did to achieve the results. The present howto is almost finished and, once I've finished writing it, I plan on adding it to opensuse.org.
