[opensuse-programming] What's the best way to cure uninitialized variables?

Hi, I'm trying to build blender-2.49a for openSUSE Factory but it won't publish until I've cured uninitialized variables. My c++ skills are not that good. Could somebody have a look at http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=525298 which has all the relevant information and give me a few pointers? Thanks in advance.
