Can anybody suggest how I set this up? I'd like pretty-printed pages of C++ from emacs on SuSE 10.1.
I used to use pretty-print on xemacs. Postscript print on emacs produces PostScript errors at the moment; so I'm using Kate for printing.
Just in case I provoke any zealotry, I use vi mode in emacs. I've switched from xemacs because emacs now looks better and works with AucTeX. And sometimes I use vim when I jsut want to do something quickly.
I generally use Xemacs, but I simply brought up GNU emacs 21.3-224 (out of the box SuSE 10.1 x86_64), selected a short C++ program, then selected File/Postcript Print Buffer (B&W), walked over to the printer and it was waiting for me. Could it be that the GNU daemon is punishing you for using vi mode :-) I also successfully printer from SuSE 10.0.
Mine seems to be 21.3.1 (P4) straight out of the box and doesn't work in colour or b/w even if I switch out of vi mode. Xemacs LaTeX mode doesn't work, which is the main reason for going to plain emacs, though emacs now looks nicer than xemacs. -- JDL
