Hi! And thanks for the response. I thought that it might be something like this, but what I really was looking for an answer to is WHY the X11 server fails. the setup that works OK. The real question would have to be "Why doesn´t the X11 server work after the first reboot?". It seems to me that after the reboot I don´t get to choose MacOS or SuSELinux with BootX. Why is that? What can I do to get into Yast2 after the reboot? Could i change some settings in BootX BEFORE I start the installation (ramdisk, video settings etc.?) //Mike -----Ursprungligt meddelande----- Från: Klaus Kaempf [mailto:kkaempf@suse.de] Skickat: den 17 juli 2001 15:23 Till: Andersson Michael; suse-ppc@suse.com Ämne: Re: [suse-ppc] Blinking cursor during installation On Tuesday 17 July 2001 12:15, Michael Andersson wrote:

What is going on!?
The X11 server fails to start up and yast2 uses the textconsole as a fallback. Due to a bug in the fallback code, the virtual console isn't properly switched. Try to switch to console 1 or 3 with ctr-altr-F1 or ctrl-alt-F3. Klaus
