Anyway, if it either makes you feel better or will improve amount of packages in Factory, feel free to blame either me or my stupidity.
Let me quote from my initial e-mail (I know it was long and boring but it's second paragraph): Disclaimer: the sole purpose of this e-mail is to present my view on the problem and to give responsible people something to think about. It is definitely not meant as a complaint about the particular case (which serves only as an example) or some kind of pointing fingers. If it was about you or that one particular request, I would discuss it with you directly. To simplify the problem to the core, what I find discouraging are two patterns: 1. People doing (trying to do) unnecessary changes from the "personal preferences" category in packages they are not actively maintaining (or intending to). 2. People eagerly accepting requests for packages they are not actively maintaining so that the real maintainer doesn't have chance to respond. (I can understand this if maintainer does not respond for, say, a week; but five hours on Sunday?) When these two meet for one request, the result is really frustrating.
