Hi,
Please take more care about update-alternatives usage. There is only one correct usage and that's documented at http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Packaging_Multiple_Version_guidelines
I declined several requests lately that I just happen to spot. Most important is that files in %bindir are *not* ghosts, they are *always* binaries or fixed links to /etc/alternatives/*
The links in /etc/alternatives/ in return are handled by update-alternatives and as such are %ghosts. One pitfall to consider: pre-13.1 rpmlint versions have a wrong check and they will tell you incorrect usage. Just ignore all rpmlint warnings for < Factory.

I added some minor fixes to the wiki page, feel free to review them. I'll add a section about man-pages tomorrow. -- With kind regards, Sascha Peilicke SUSE Linux GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, D-90409 Nuernberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+owner@opensuse.org
