Can anyone explain why I'm getting this warning in devel:tools/perf
perf.i586: W: unstripped-binary-or-object /usr/bin/perf
I'm obeying RPM_OPT_FLAGS for the build so no -g (confirmed with V=1) and debuginfo generation is disabled for this package.
Always happens. If you create the debug packages the -g is added but at the end there is a strip and there is no warning. But if you don't create the debug packages, strip is never called... and it seems there is some extra sections, not only debug ones, that should be stripped (from a quick test,.symtab and .strtab?). It has been this way for a long time, ni idea if there is a bug open for this. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
