Hello,
I'm again in the way of testing most dvd authoring tools. I do this in 11.4.
see:
http://dodin.org/wiki/index.php?n=Doc.DVDAuthoringWithOpenSUSELinux
and also:
http://dodin.org/wiki/index.php?n=Doc.DVDReadersInOpenSUSELinux
the present problem is that for two of the applications I had problem reading mpg files.
I forget which one was the first (2mandvd?), but the last is DeVeDe
the problem come when I have to insert a video file. I open a file open windows, clic on the needed file... and wait, and wait... say more than two minute for 100Mb file (just verifyed) wich makes building dvd very difficult.
The mpg files are already of the desired format for dvd (created by ffmpeg), and I used DeVeDe on a much slower computer some month ago without problem.
I use a 64 bits i5 computer with 4Gb ram.
During the wait, top do not show any application with more than 2% cpu!
do you have an idea of the way I can help debug this?
by the way, after that creating the dvd took only one minute and a half (no recoding)
thanks jdd Sounds like it creates the dvd structure during the loading of the file if the format is correct. Have a look in the setup options and see where it makes the dvd structure ie. menus etc. and see if this is what is happening. The app might have a command line verbose or debug

I use DVDStyler although mandvd seemed the easiest to use the others didn't work for me although it must be a year ago when I explored them. AFAIR one of the dvd apps allowed you to enter the commands used for dvd creation.
