Hello List!
I have a "problem" once more... Somehow the initalization of the system has a minor bug. I use SuSE 7.1 Pro, and the situation is as follows: I have en ethernet-adapter in my pcmcia-slot, by which I connect to the LAN at my office or my private desktop at home. Fact is, that the DHCP-client is started BEFORE pcmcia is started, so, logically, DHCP won't find eth0. How can I change the order of module-loading or what is concerned by this problem?

Just change the index-number in /sbin/init.d/rc2[3].d/S(XX)dhcp to a number bigger than /sbin/init.d/rc2[3].d/S(YY)pcmcia If you use SCHEMES with your pcmcia-card you can add the following in /etc/pcmcia/network.opts at the right SCHEME: --- snip # Extra stuff to do after setting up the interface start_fn () { /sbin/init.d/dhcp restart } ---- snap Have fun Andreas -- Andreas Seltmann Landessternwarte Koenigstuhl 12 D-69117 Heidelberg GERMANY mailto:A.Seltmann@lsw.uni-heidelberg.de Phone.: +49 - (0)6221 / 509 235 Fax.: +49 - (0)180 - 50 52 58 61 64 81 Mobil: +49 - (0)170 - 20 91 91 2 Privat: +49 - (0)621 / 336 24 66
