Hi all, I know this isn't probably the best place, but here's something I want to share: Currently the Fedora trans-pt (pt_PT L10N) team is moving efforts into fixing some gaps that exist in pt_PT. For example some translations on GNOME are not consistent with Fedora and vice-versa. We would like to offer a more consistent translation so that we can have across projects the best European Portuguese possible. I would like to ask openSUSE if they are willing to ask your pt_PT translation team to join this effort. Our goal is to provide between everyone involved a set of guidelines to make European Portuguese more consistent across projects, distributions and GNOME/KDE. This will be an open discussion and we will use the future linux.pt platform for this. If most of the current projects/distributions pt_PT teams are willing to subscribe such document we will present it to the Academy of Science of Lisbon (the organization that is responsible for the normalization of European Portuguese, the Portuguese teached in Portuguese Schools and the oficial work language of the European Community) for support. With this we hope that they can provide information regarding several topics that we consider important, for example, the foreign words that are accepted in European Portuguese and counseling to any team that needs it. With this we expect to provide FOSS Projects with the most accurate and elegant Portuguese following all the rules! Would openSUSE/Novell be interested in entering this discussion and help us accomplish this?
