Subject: [opensuse-marketing] Find a good time for Weekly News Team Meeting
From: Sascha 'saigkill' Manns
Hello Mates,
we're trying to find an good time for holding our Team Meeting. It would be great, if we can meet us with the most of the whole team.
You can vote there: http://www.doodle.com/n64at83ynn9mfupt
Thanks for preparing Doodle, Sascha. I hear some new translators have joined our team recently, I wish we can also meet those rookies on the meeting. ;-) @all guys of Weekly News Team Even if all the times listed on Doodle now are not convenient for you, please leave your comment including: 1) the city/country where you live and your timezone 2) more convenient or available time (and day) for you (not only for the next meeting, but also in general) Example: 1) Tokyo/Japan JST(+9:00) 2) Although 14:00-16:00(UTC) Saturday is convenient for me, 0:00-2:00(UTC) Sunday -- 9:00-11:00 in our timezone -- might be available
Is biweekly an good solution, or is monthly better?
We discussed about this in the past and we decided to have biweekly meetings. IIRC, the reason why we decided so was, that we thought the more frequently we have our meetings, each team member can get the more chance to join the meeting. However, if the meeting time is fixed as it is now, persons who can join meetings might also be fixed. So I'd propose to have biweekly or twice a month meetings, but in different time. For example: 2nd Saturday - 14:00(UTC) For those who live in Europe: afternoon to early evening For those who live in Asia: evening to night 4th Saturday - 17:00(UTC) For those who live in Europe: evening to night For those who live in America: morning to early afternoon For good or bad, we don't have any members who live in Africa, Middle East, Central Asia and Oceania now. So, I think most of the members can join at least either of them. We also have to consider the way for those who can't join the meetings to participate the discussions. If we can find a better channel to share and discuss our tasks, where we can easily refer to ongoing discussions and write comments about them on demand, regular meetings might no longer be needed and meetings can be organized when needed.
