I think a lot of the information you're looking for can be found on the openSUSE wiki -- it's mostly a matter of gathering the data.
Maybe start a page on the wiki in case others on the marketing team want to help with this?
Best,
Zonker
I've created a page on http://en.opensuse.org/User:Miumiento/Events. Anybody that can/wants to contribute is really welcome. If anybody sees the need, add items as well.
Thanks to everybody. I'll keep all updated.
If anybody has a few minutes, I would like to have feedbacks on the first draft version of the document I've developed: http://files.opensuse.org/opensuse/en/4/41/Draft-AICA-OpenSource.odt.
The file is also available on the previously mentioned page: http://en.opensuse.org/User:Miumiento/Events.
One more piece of information I would need is related to the numbers: do we know the number of openSUSE downloads? Users? Do we have any other statistics that could be interesting to be presented as an evidence of the interest for the project?
Thank you all.
Just for sharing: the document linked on the http://en.opensuse.org/User:Miumiento/Events page has been submitted to the congress call for paper. I made a couple of changes based on the received suggestions and added the abstract.
The actual schedule is: - September the 15th: the Association will notify about accepted proposals. - October the 1st: proposed documents can be modified and submitted with changes.
Any questions, let me know.
The proposed/submitted document for the congress has been approved to be presented at the Congress. The organizators have chosen 8 out of hundreds of proposals. The huge number of proposals is the reason why they missed the scheduled date for answering the approval on September the 15th and instead the approval has arrived on October the 4th. The event schedule is now expecting to have a couple of Ministers (Bondi and Brunetta) attending the event, in addition to University professors and researcher, plus some R&D staff and local government representatives. The congress is not 'free of charge' but there is an entrance fee for the three days of 120 € (150 € if you also want to partecipate to a group dinner). I've sent an updated version of the document and it can be found on the same links as it was before [1] and linked on my page [2]. More, I've updated the Ambassador/Events page with the event reference. Let me know if there are any questions/suggestions.
