Hi to everyone! I'm new in this list, and I hope that i can be usefull in this objective, that is spreading suse around the whole world!
Welcome ! I am - and I'm sure others are also - glad to have you as our compania. ;-)
I'm already in campaing to help all Twitter users that need openSuse help! But, i have a big problem: In my country (Argentina), not much people use Twitter, and those who do, don't use much Linux, and not to say openSuse.
So i would like to change that! I want to people to discover the SUSE experience! But, by tweeting, i think i can't be of any help. So, how can i be usefull in my coutry??
What are the most popular and active communication media among people who have interests in computing in your country ? Are there any popular social networking services, mailing lists, forums ? If Twitter-like micro blogging services are not popular in your country, why don't you join such communication media first and spread the word ? I think it's a good idea to join local Linux user groups, if there are some. Blogging your personal experiences and impressions on using openSUSE would be also nice. And, don't forget ! The most important thing for promoting openSUSE is being kind to others as Kevin wrote in this thread. ;-) In my case, for example, I subscribe not only to openSUSE related mailing lists and forums but also to general Linux related ones. I try to answer the questions from newbies in those lists and forums as far as I can, and, if they are not satisfied with other distro, I would recommend them to try using openSUSE. There are many ways to spread the word and promote openSUSE. I hope you'll tell us your experiences, thoughts and ideas that you come across, so that we can share them. :-D
Thanks a lot, and sorry about my english!
