I was wondering, i'm not aware if there is something like this (if it is point me to it :) ) but it would be a good idea to have an openSUSE wiki with all the howto's as for example fedora under this address http://www.fedoraguide.info/index.php?title=Main_Page
What do you all think about it ??

Hi Bender, There is no much point to create yet another wiki/blog/whatever, and start from scratch every time with number of readers and contributors that tend to be 1. The point is to use wiki as collaboration tool, where group of people with similar ideas creates something. The Wikipedia is success only because it is focal point of large group of people. Creating numerous wikis go straight against this. The very same is valid for any individual page. If there is one, good page, it will be focal point of many readers and it will grow. Diluting focus by adding more data collections is not good idea. P.S. The openSUSE wiki needs contributors and maintainers. We already have 3000+ articles. Some of them has to be watched and updated all the time, other seldom, but if we take out openSUSE Weekly News that is probably only + after 3000, then cut a half that don't need maintenace, the wiki needs some 150 volunteers, 1 per 10 pages. Look at the http://en.opensuse.org/Wiki_team and tell me how many more we need. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
