If it's merely an issue of display, then the issue is most likely related to the configuration of Mozilla and the OS with respect to the fonts installed. This is characterised by the boxes being displayed instead of the correct Japanese glyphs.
I think there is some kind of configuration issue, not limited to Mozilla. I've installed all the extra fonts that people here have suggested, to no avail. It's not like I'm "missing the right fonts". Something else is wrong. Right now, non-Latin text doesn't work in any program - not Mozilla, not Evolution, not Konqueror, not even Yast. This is trivial even for Windows 98! I'd hate to have to go back to Microsoft. Paul Davidson
